Julie, I got a vanwagon for this very reason. Absence doing this, I am sure
others will have plenty of suggestions. One I will make is to wrap buds
about to open with florist paper or wax paper and fasten with little pieces
of tape. Then you can lay the stalks down....the irises can stay out of
water for a couple of hours without noticeable damage. Clarence Mahan
P.S. (Another suggestion: grow and show table irises (or MTBs if you please)
as they are easy to transport!)
