I'd like to add to Tom Tadfor Little's advice -- if you want to keep the
cultivars separate, you will need more space -- they increases, remember,
and if they are a foot apart, next year, you might not know which rhizome 
belongs to which and fer sher in three years  ... when you need to "dump"
some, preferrably at yer friendly local club sale, or even to yer neighbor
you might want to know and if you report to the LIST which ones rebloom on
rapidly produced rhizomes, you will want to make note of which ones 
are rapidly increasing probably after bloom season when you don't have 
the bloom to keep track of the color
and etc etcetcetc....
