Hi
I didn't keep stats on my % of takes last season, but there were some
cultivars that were outstanding in the take department.
For me:
Pod parents- Altruist, Avalon Sunset, Blonde Bombshell, Captains Joy,
Conjuration, Master Touch, Mesmerizer, Picante, Silverado, Yaquina
Blue, outdid all others tried.
For pollen:- About Town, Black Tie Affair, Captains Joy, Costa Rica,
Enhancement, Indigo Princess, Local Colour, Mesmerizer, Night Magic,
Picante,Scarlet Embers and Sierra Grande were the best.
So far, I have over 1000 germinated from over 2500, with some still
coming. Have potted on over 200 and eagerly await results.
As this is my first 'real' try (I didn't know where to put the pollen
correctly before) have learnt lots.
For one thing. Even if you think it doesn't have pollen and hasn't
gone on, mark the cross as I have several with unknown pollen that I
had thought wouldn't make it.
