For various reasons, this year's burritos were handled differently from previous years'. Pods were shelled, seeds dried, then burrito'd without any soaking. Paper towels were barely moist.
After ~3 months in the fridge @ 40 to 45oF, dried seeds are starting to germinate without any soaking.
Because quite a few <fresh> seeds germinated after only 2 months at these warmer fridge temps last year, I had concluded that this year's <dried> seeds weren't going to germinate without any rinsing/soaking, but apparently it just took a little longer.
Most went in the fridge in mid September, some a week or so later.Crosses are all TBs, fairly similar genetic background as in the past - mostly IMM, RENOWN, HARVEST OF MEMORIES, MATRIX, mixed with various west coast-Oz pollen & my seedlings from same. Seems like there is an OCT SPLENDOR seedling pod parent, some from KIWI CHEESECAKE.
Only a few seeds have sprouted, but I'm going to go ahead and pot them all up, water them and keep my fingers crossed that enough will germinate to give me some plants big enough to line out this spring before I get busy with bloom season. Too hot and dry in gravel soil here to plant after bloom season unless we get a week's rainy spell.
