Somewhere in an article, I think in an AIS Bulletin, Anne Lowe once referred 
to this iris as "good old INTERPOL." I have come to think of it thus. When I 
see it across a room or garden, all oval and smooth and tailored, and 
standing straight and showing its fine brown beard, I say to myself, yep, 
there it is again, "good old INTERPOL."
