Regarding new introductions, I am now quite confused.
My understand, and please correct me if I am wrong, is
that after an iris was registered (with Keith Keppel
at this time) one had as long as one wanted to
introduce the iris and that only after it was
introduced would it be considered for HC, HM, etc.
This is of the utmost importance to me since I have
registered an iris that I plan to introduce, but since
I do not have a sale garden I must do it through an ad
in the bulletin and that is quite expensive (for me).
Therefore I had planned to delay introduction for a
year or two and send rhizomes to people in other areas
for viewing and testing.
When it was stated that there are only three years
after registration for award eligibility, I thought
perhaps I misunderstood the rules. I would appreciate
some clarification from those of you who are far more
knowledgeable than I about this. Thank you.
