HYB: iris seeds

Most of the pods from the successful crossings made in May-June are
still green here, and riding on their mother stalks. The only two
that turned brown early turned out not to be not from the natural
drying process, but from rot. When I realized this, I took them and
opened them, exposing some pretty slimy seeds.

The first podful I washed and set them, still moist and covered, in
the freezer. The second I also washed but dried; they are now
sitting in the clear plastic cups I'm using as containers. My
impulse is to put them, dry and covered, in the refrigerator until
cold enough to plant them out in my rough cold frame.

Any other suggestions or protests? This is my first year of
hybridizing, and having read everything I could find, on-line and
off, with all the contradictions, I'm kindof winging it here.

Thanks,
