The Mallorn Archives should be full of information on stratification of seeds
because this subject has been discussed several times since the
establishment of the list in 1996.

I freeze my seeds after they have been completely dried. They
stay in the freezer from August to mid November. I have never frozen
'green' seed and expect that to be a bad idea.

Even in MS, the ground can freeze solid once in five or ten years,
and so do the iris seed pots - makes for better germination.
