Betty -- I've been putting Preen on seedling beds since 1975 with never
any problem I apply the Preen, shortly before a good rain is forecast, or
water it in with a sprinkler if no rainfall occurs within a day, THEN I
plant the seedlings. This disturbs the anti-germinant "shield" in the
immediate vicinity of each plant, but I prefer risking a weed or two to
getting a lot of Preen residue on the foliage by applying it after planting.
You have more courage than I, using the Roundup with the mum pots. More
power to you. -- Griff
