Re: HIST: Descriptions

I can answer your question about 'Zebra' but I am afraid your not going to like the answer. The variegated Iris pallida known as 'Zebra' was never registered as such. There is an old registration for a plant called 'Zebra' that refers to a non-variegated plant with striped flowers. Although this plant is probably no longer with us it has never been removed from the official lists and the 'Zebra' we all no and love is a usurper of that name.

official description for the following irises either Online or in my
checklists which only go back to 1969. I need the information for our
upcoming rhizome sale.

Except for Christabel and Zebra, some of these donated iris were
purchased from nurseries not solely devoted to iris, so the names may
not be authentic, registered names.

Cameo
Christabel
Copper Queen
Ribbons Royal
Sweet Sixteen

Can anyone post to Iris-photos or email to me photos of the following:
Luau (Ghio 74)
Scrimshaw (Moores '83)

Any help will be gratefully appreciated.
