I'm in a pickle about this myself -- normally my TB iris are done
blooming by end of June at the latest & I can dig & divide by 2nd week
in July BUT this year, after a late start, they're still going!
Especially my old reliable Iris variegata -- must have 8 or 10
bloomstalks still to open or with some flowers open & fat buds about
ready.
I'm in zone 4, Colorado mtns, where it's lately been hot & dry. Most
floriferous (sp?) things in the garden right now are Nepeta, Salvia &
Snow Daisy (Tanacetum niveum -- terrific!) with a young ton of buds on
the A. Lilies almost ready. Also, the Wine Cups (Callirhoe involucrata)
just started flowering. All this stuff is in the most xeriscape part of
the terraces -- who says xeriscaping has to be dry & dull?!
