Re: CULT: Irises in Florida?

Mark, regarding growing irises in Florida

The irises you mentioned can be grown in Florida. A new iris affilliate has
been
organized in the Jacksonville, Florida area. Members attending their first
meeting brought either iris or pictures of iris growing in their gardens.
 Bearded
iris were included particularly medians and rebloomers. I know their have
been people who have grown Japanese iris as well, but I am not sure if they
were in pools or ponds. There are a number of native iris and a friend sent
me a plant that grew in a pond on her land. She also grew Louisianas,
pseudacorous, and some of the early purple and yellow iris.

I am sure I would attempt to grow all types of iris just as I have here on
our island.
