Marte,
Hi, I'm new to the list, but I do have descriptions of two of the iris
you recently purchased. The descriptions are out of the current Cooley's
catalog from Oregon.
Mother's Little Helper: Smooth, clean orange color should certainly perk
up Mom. Wax-like substance and semi-flaring falls. Mild ruffling. Or
ange-red beards. Eight to ten buds on perfect branching. (R. Ernst,
1995) Middle-late bloomer. 35".
I have often thought of buying this one myself as my 2-year-old daughter
loves to help mama water her flowers. We have such cute pictures from
this spring of Jessica smelling them. Beautiful child and flowers!
Does anyone know? Are there any iris with Jessica in the name? I have
seen Jesse's Song, but would prefer the name to read Jessica.
Rhapsody In Bloom: (again from Cooley's) A lingering melody in your
garden, the subtle orchid blends to a creamy orchid at center. Soft
tones of pastel honey shoulder the yellow-orange beards tipped in white.
Even ruffling all around. Seven buds. (R. Ernst, 1993) Middle-Late
bloomer. 35"
Again, another I have thought of getting. Iris bloom so quickly, that I
have been trying to lengthen my flower season by buying some
middle-late, late and very late bloomers. I am also thinking of trying
some rebloomers, but haven't heard much if they are good.
