Coliban water must be much cheaper than yours. we haven't had water
restrictions in Castlemaine for several years, despite the dry weather,
because of the run off from the great dividing range, into Malmsbury res.
There always seems to be plenty available. Bendigo (to the north) and
Macedon/Woodend (to the south) don't seem to fare so well, and often have
restrictions in summer.
Maybe I am just very mean to my garden. Like Christy, I mulch heavily
except for the bearded irises. I have aimed to come close to xeriscape
gardening here, and it does carry itself well through the summer, at least
according to the comments I get. Like most gardeners I'm never completely
happy with it, and always see more jobs that need doing.

Hows the weather over your way? I ask this because we always seem to get it
the next day :-)
Cheers, Jan
