	Bill, in your part of the world, do you call the fruit horse apples?

	I remember as a kid seeing this tree all over Ft. Worth, and 
they were quite nasty later in the summer when the apples fell.

	Boys being boys, we hurled them at each other or tried to 'bust' 
them.

	A lady in the neighborhood used them to deter scorpions.  All 
scorpions would leave if you brought a horse apple into the house, 
so she said.
