Some people don't know, forget, or don't care to know about the history of
this list. You have, perhaps, heard of the demise of the first iris group list known
as iris-l It was set up by Tom Little and was run off a server where he worked. It
lasted about two years, and then because of reasons I don't know was 'terminated'
by rt. 66, the server.

For about a month John, as a volunteer, was accepting the iris-talk messages
and manually forwarding them to the membership. 'Hand cranking' out the list
messages was no easy task, but one John was willing to do. This went on for close
to a month, as I recall. After careful consideration, John established our group
with One List, then EGroups. He helped us through the transition to Yahoo Groups.
With all of this experience with this group behind him, I doubt that he needs a
management team unless he himself wants one and asks for the establishment
of same.

The last time I checked there were thirteen Yahoo groups dealing with irises.
The five largest are operated the same way as this one, and things are running
smoothly as far as I know.
