Doris; I am in my third year of using Grass type Merit on the iris
beds. I assume we are using much the same type. This year during
cleanup after bloom I saw no cuts, no nibbled edges and no weep holes.
The only borer damage was in the front yard where I had stuck a few
extras as filler in some bare spots in a perennial border. Don't get
the attention the others get.
I am sold on Merit. It is a systemic and should not affect the
earthworms. I have seen no damage to earthworms.
