Linda;
I have been thinking about this for some time and
totally agree. I have been quietly trying to see if
this could be done, and more importantly if we have
the resources and people to do it. Until I have some
realistic proposals I have restrained myself from
talking about this too loud. I would hate to create
expectations that could not be fulfilled. There are
many possibilities for websites. Affiliates, Sections,
Regions, and AIS can work together to realize many
goals. Unfortunately we really need more volunteers to
make some of these ideas realities. So far I have
found people that have had the same thoughts and have
the ability but are already overextended. But having
watched the internet evolve I am certain this will
ultmately come to pass. Essentially SIGNA has already
done something like you are suggesting check out
Dennis Kramb's site for Iris species. If there are
programers who would want to try something have them
contact me and I would be willing to talk about
possibilities.
