Re: HYB: rebloom

Griff, the only thing I've noticed consistently is that sometimes high shade provides a bit of protection from extremes of temperature (i.e., some frost protection). Leafless tree branches. So sometimes that extends bloom time on IMM (i.e., the earliest stalks don't get frozen out, so there is a longer sequence of stalk production).

If soil temperature <is> a factor in some/all? cold climate rebloomers, then lower humidity and shade might be a factor in seasons where it's close to the threshold of being too warm. Lower humidity here usually means less cloud cover so more night time cooling.

But high shade would mean less night time cooling, so afternoon shade that isn't directly overhead might make the optimal combination.

??

More BS from me....

I'm beginning to wonder if the degree of sun, heat and
humidity in this area works against rebloom, and if more shade might be
beneficial. Anyone else have thoughts on that? -- Griff
