 The October rebloom for you often ends up being earlier in cooler climates.

Bud set is temperature related, and  rebloom can only happen after bud set
happens. For bud set you need  temperatures between 16-21C or 60-72  at
night.

Betty  --  Do you have a post-able photo of that variegata?  I like im, too.
And what's wrong with blooming in October?  Sure, that's too late for some
northern climes, but I have IB and TB rebloomers, here at the tip-top of zone
7, that bloom in October, November and December  --  even occasionally gracing
