Since I tend to be a water miser and grow in light soil, I
ask a lot of rebloomers. Last year when planting a new bed
of rebloomers, I decided to situate it over our septic
drain field as an experiment.. Thus far the only thing to
report is no winter casualities

This sounds like making a cake but there may be some logic
to it. My rebloomers always seem to perform most reliably
during the first year following replanting. Could it be
that close cultivation and therefore some root pruning is
helpful?
