perhaps climate should be blended in? would the degree
of beta-carotene fluctuate from the mild winters of
the southwest to the wind chill factor winters of the
mid-west and northeast? 

would the beta-carotene fluctuate from the rainy
pacific northwest to the dry arizona, or new mexico
climes?

can agree that soil composition and fertilizer
enhancements do have an impact, but think it logical
to believe that these are not the only influencing
factor(s) in determining beta-carotene content.
