I was really excited when I saw the rows of EDITH WOLFORD at Melrose.  I told 
Ben that it was the first iris in that color combination that I liked.  Most 
have muddy violet falls.  I haven't seen any so-called look alikes that have 
nice blue falls.  I don't remember what happened to EDITH in our garden.  It 
probably succumbed to the same borers that took BEVERLY SILLS and ANNA BELLE 
BABSON.  VANITY and all its progeny are favorites of the borers. Somehow we 
set pods on EDITH by I. pumila and got some interesting SDB seedlings.  
Unfortunately, we didn't follow up on them.
