As many of you may know, we have just moved to a knew property here in
Australia, and carted some 600 cv's of bearded irises, in pots, with us.
We have had to make a few alterations to suit our needs. Firstly a fence to
contain the dog and our new Cocker Spaniel puppy, who is learning very well
about not climbing on the pots, or going on the gardens. Secondly a decking
to accomodate our needs for an outdoor entertaining area, and thirdly an
enclosure and small shed, for my chooks (chickens).
We had decided on 'brunswick' green (a dark green often used here in Aus)
and cream, for our fence, and at the last minute changed to a lighter green,
which has worked well. we used the same colour combination for the decking,
and I have used some of the left over green on the chook shed. Yesterday I
was doing a few touch ups in green, and was walking past a bed of dwarf
irises growing against the new fence, when it suddenly struck me what I had
done.
Everything is painted 'iris leaf' green!
I hadn't even thought about it. I had just gone ahead and chosen what i
considered to be the nicest green. Have I been spending too much time with
my irises or what? :-)
Cheers, Jan
