Hi all,
I went out Wed. counting fans on my new rhizomes. With the exception of He Man everything looks larger and better than when I put them in last fall. For the first year I can remember some of my new aquisitions had up to 5 increases and only about 20% were still at a single fan. I usually do not expect to see much happen in the first year so this was a very pleasant surprise. I contribute it partly to the weather but I did notice that some of the smallest fans that came had as good of increase as the huge fat ones that usually die back some before taking off and doing well. The iris seem to be stronger in general than the 80's varieties and I wanted to thank the hybridizers for their hard work.
