Killer frost last night - I lost some periennials that were in
with my Siberians which look ice-covered (the teeny part that is
visible (1/2 in. green on a few stalks) but White Triangles is
looking bad for the first time - no green anywhere.
A good friend of mine decided a long time ago that we are lucky
to have grow flowers (any flowers) and we both want to grow hardy,
northern plants but I knew I should have tried to cover some last
night - at 5:30 a.m., it was 4 degrees above zero. I was out with
a parka & sweats on my knees doing my 'examinations'. What a nut.

The only good thing about last night is the wonderful snow-cover
in my back gardens - Japanese I. are still protected.
Weather obsessing,
Ellen (& I was worried about slugs - not plant survival. :(
