Hi Marte,
I order one each of the bearded types since one rhizome will almost always
multiply rapidly.
Selecting the correct cultivar is another important issue. I go through
the catalogs and check off my favorite choices.
Then I have to narrow it down based on color, bloom date (Early,Medium or
Late) and form (space-age, ruffled, size, laced).
Cost is a major issue for me too. Sometimes, if you are just growing for
show, buying a lot of inexpensive cultivars can be a real thrill at bloom
time.
I recommend Woodland Iris Garden for excellent prices and quality
rhizomes. I got most of my iris from them. You can see these on my web
