Steve:
I've been growing iris for a number of years,
but hadn't joined AIS until last year. I am far from being an expert in
this area. I have found the information in the AIS Bulletins invaluable,
as well as the information in our local society bulletin.
It is wonderful to meet people who share the
same interests. You can compare notes and ask questions when you have
problems. There is always someone in AIS or the local society who has a
great deal of expertise in this area. They can usually steer people in the
right direction as far as an answer or suggestion to a problem.
Last, but not least, it's always great to be
able to visit other people's gardens in the society in order that maybe you can
improve your own or, perhaps, just enjoy the beauty of it.
Better yet, hook them up with
iris-talk. That should convince them!
Wishing you lots of luck.
