Re: OT-BIO: Perry Dyer

From: "Perry Dyer" <pdyer@flash.net>

Yep, one of my pet peeves. Back when I was a young punk hybridizer, I had
sent one of my (new-then) introductions to a particular convention. I had
done what the hybridizers are SUPPOSED to do and sent in my update to the
guest iris chair to show my seedling number had now been named. They didn't
update the tag in the garden (or the convention booklet), and could have
quite probably cost me sales that year (the variety was brand-new that
year). I'm really not in this to make bucks (that goodness, because I'm
lucky if I break even every year), but the "recognition" for that young
hybridizer would have been nice. Grrrrr.

I have pictures of my new medians in my '99 catalog. If you'd like one,
contact me via private e-mail with your address and phone number and I'll
send you one.

Thanks,
Perry Dyer
Central Oklahoma, where we received a blessed, generous RAIN last night and
the temps have cooled off (yea!).
