just had to contribute.
Poor departed iris-- you never got to bloom
I look upon you filled with sadness and gloom
Cut down in your prime
Now filled with mush, gush, and grime.

Was it the black fungus, leaf spot
or erwinia that was to blame?
I guess you were doomed from minute number one
