Years ago, I decided that since the medians bloom earlier than the
TB's--so putting in Median Rebloomers was a good idea. At that time,
Dr. Weiler still had 'Rialto Gardens'--so I tried many of his
medians--and Willot's Medians and Aitken's medians, and Niswonger
medians- the result--a garden full of Medians, and still no rebloom.<

Here in the northern White Mts. of NH (which is a reliable Zone 3a),
we do have rebloom but not much to speak of. The old IMMORTALITY does
rebloom but not with a profusion like the warmer climes see. Carryl,
the one median that always rebloomed for me was the lovely SDB,
REFINED by Weiler. I think it may have BABY BLESSED in its parentage
but I didn't bother to look. BABY BLESSED (Zurbrigg) strangely never
rebloomed for me but it certainly puts on a good show during the
regular season which for us is now for SDBs. This looks like the best
bearded iris season we have ever had..the green buds on the TBs (!)
are incredible - for us. If Walter Moores TBs continue to increase
like they have, I will need an acre for the 6 cultivars of his that I
have. I think the mini-dry season last month was what the bearded
wanted instead of the freezing rain we usually get this time of year.

One of the highlights of the convention was being with Lloyd Zurbrigg
in the Roberts' 'Friendship Gardens' and going through cultivar by
cultivar with him in his own garden there...great learning experience.
I also spotted his Siberian (!) introduction in 1978 (I think it was).
