I pot up about 100 bulb iris in the fall to sell during the bloom season.
Last year I bought the el cheapo potting soil in 40 lb. bags from Home
Depot and not a single bulb survived, even though some were showing green
shoots when I put them in. Anybody have a brand name on this suspect
potting soil or the suspect pre-emergent? Most modern chemicals do not
remain in the soil after 6 months exposure to weather, so if something were
to grow in these pots now it would be interesting.
