I have grown Dutch iris a lot, and yes, they do put up foliage in the fall,
just as mine are doing now. It doesn't seem to hurt them over the winter and
they will bloom next spring. At least they always have for me. Also mine have
bloomed year after year, in spite of the fact that my friends say they can't
grow them more than one year. Don't know the difference. Will wait to see how
they respond here in Zone 6 in Colorado.
