RE: Planting an iris garden

I live in South Carolina.  The days are in the sixties and seventies, the nights around 34.  I did trim the foliage however the rhizomes are 6 to 8 inches.  There are roots with the foliage plants, no roots for what I divided.  I planted them with the top of the rhizome showing.  Thank you.
