Re: CULT: Transplanting TB

Walter's right -- you need to know your soil, weather etc --For many of us who
have used the same ground for years , alfalfabits are a godsend -- eventually
your soil loses its virginiity (as Ben Hagar told me eons ago about my loss of
gorgeous plants)' I know Terry Aiken gets it in by the tons. I bet the West
Coast big gardens use it also. If tilled in you don't see much unsightlys/or
is it -ies? because the rain waters it down. It does look gruesome if you
just spread it on the top , Some years back, Diana Nichols used horse
manure just spread on top -- and you even walked on it in the paths.!
Don't know how she does it now. It would be nice to have good Mississippi
soil and it probably gets renewed every floodtime - but that is not so good.
So I'll just stay here where I worry about hurricanes - Mother Nature can be
so disturbing! ryyfigge@aol.com nr Baltimore, Reg. 4 zone 7 Now I
have work to do even if it is indoors because of the beautiul soft rain.
