I can't speak for other commercial gardens, but this is NOT true for
Aitken's Salmon Creek Garden. My dad was actually first afflicted with his
Iris obsession back when we lived in Minnesota, and he is well aware of the
fact that different areas of the country have different growing seasons.
They give priority for plants in short supply to early orders, but they
ship by areas of the country: orders from the midwest (and other areas with
harsh winters) get shipped first. He tries to make sure plants get there in
time to settle in before winter.

Most other commercial growers I have met would probably be accommodating if
you mention in your order that you would like to receive shipment before
the end of July.
