Hi all,
This spring and the year before I noticed more pods took and more seeds were given on the side branch (one down from the terminal) than on any other flower position on the stalk.
I cannot think why this would be unless being closer to the ground, the side branch can take up more moisture than the terminal, therefore making the stigmatic lip more receptive to pollen for a longer time than the terminal bud.

Any thoughts or discoveries pertaining to this???
