RE: CULT: Daubing discovery

Pat, I noticed that too, though I didn't take time to think of a reason.
Several times I have put gobs of pollen on a top flower without getting
a pod, but a pod appeared on a flower right below it. That makes me
wonder: Was it just a bumble bee that was a better pollenizer than
myself, or did some of my pollen drift down there?

Hi all,

This spring and the year before I noticed more pods took and more seeds
were given on the side branch (one down from the terminal) than on any
other flower position on the stalk.

I cannot think why this would be unless being closer to the ground, the
side branch can take up more moisture than the terminal, therefore
making the stigmatic lip more receptive to pollen for a longer time than
the terminal bud.

(((PERHAPS)))

Any thoughts or discoveries pertaining to this???
