Arnold Koekkoek described a painting method for the use of Roundup which has
been described for other herbicides over the last few months. I wonder why
this method would not work for Cygon. As a systemic, I assume that it can
be applied to the plant anywhere and an application on one leaf would result
in it spreading throught the plant. The only problem would be whether one
can apply a high enough concentration. Does anyone know if such a method
would work?
I had my worst borer year this year and I believe the reason is my
relucances to spray with Cygon. This reluctance resulted in me spraying
once and deciding not to do a follow up spray. The problem is the drift
that occurs even on a very calm night. One can smell the chemical
throughout the garden, which means one is breathing it.
Painting would be far more specific and a better choice even if the
concentration had to be increased.

reduced the "asides" or short comments or a personal nature. Most of them
could be sent directly to the recepient and we would not have to read them.
