Cali - Delighted to hear of the Country Life piece
on your garden. Do let us know when it appears. I suspect 'the
writer's visit' for it is something the Gardens Ed. will reserve for
herself, not something she'll farm out to a deserving contributor such as
your humble correspondent... At least, were I Gardens Ed., it's what I'd
do!
I take your comments re the Tennant book. I wasn't
surprised by them. Note my careful original choice of adjective: 'interesting'!
Covers a multitude of sins - of commission, omission and misunderstanding.
The book is dedicated to, among others, ET's
mother, so I assume she's still alive - though probably no longer on Corfu? She
must be of a great age by now. So far as I know, she's never written anything on
any subject at all and it's perhaps a bit late now to start?! But certainly
an account by her of gardening on C., based on so many years living and
gardening more or less year round on the island, would be fascinating.
