Although this Mediterranean country is much smaller than California, 
the same can be said here. Even the term "Mediterranean climate" doesn't 
pretend to describe the climate averywhere in the Med. Where I am is called 
"Mediterranean"; Fifty miles away, Tiberias and the Jordan Valley is 
"Sudanese"; Two hundred miles away, the Negev is "Saharan". Climatic 
provinces do not always correspond with geographic labels.
