Dear medit plant friends -
I loved Gay Klok's assessment of what plants decided to grow where in her
garden as evidence of her garden's sense of humor.
My garden's sense of humor (and surprise) is evident in what seeds survive
the compost pile and root where the compost is spread. Every year I seem
to get an unexpected squash. Last year it was acorn squash that took over
the parking strip (small patch of land between the sidewalk and the street
for those of you not in the US). This year I have a different squash in
with the corn. I think it may be a relative of the squash I bought last
year for fall decor - yellow with green bottoms and sort of knobby.
Happy gardening

El Cerrito Farms (aka my backyard) where the zukes are at the "gad zukes"
stage, the tomatoes are FINALLY getting ripe, the strawberries have
outlived the snails, the corn is ripe, and the lemon trees need picking.
