I'm more into urban planning. I've noticed a distressing trend in public
plantings towards non-thirsty, low-care plants. Where are the petunias in
huge Victorian swathes? The celosia plunked dutifully down in soldierly rows
by every corporate walkway? It's time mass bedding of tender annuals made a
comeback.
I agree completely with my namesake. And where are the tulips? There was
a lovely single row of them outlining the annual begonias where I went to
school in Boston. Is there anything more satisfying than planting those
bulbs each fall?
