Re: Anyone growing these trees in USDA zones 9/10?
Dear David,
I am growing Dais cotinifolia in my backyard in Richmond. I was quite
unsure of its hardiness and wanted to see if it would bloom here before
introducing it. I've had several for 2 years (from seed) , they have been
slow growers- the tallest is only about 3 ft. & no buds yet, but I'm hopeful
this year. Does it bloom in San Francisco? I tried Bolusanthus too (from
seed), unfortunately it only grew an inch a year and I gave up. I would
like to add to your list Tecoma stans "Yellow Bells". I saw it growing at
the Phoenix botanical garden and its supposed to be hardy down to 10
degrees. Sincerely, Annie Hayes
PS . I have a couple of Dais down at the nursery you could have.
