Karl,

I just have never seen any of these in southern
California, which is not to say that they aren't being
grown somewhere...  My friend Gary Hammer says that he
sees Delonix regia being grown around his nursery in
Montebello, Ca. which is Sunset zone 23, along with
Regia roystonea.  So it is possilbe, but I don't know
if they bloom as spectacularly.  I'll have to ask him
when I see him next week in Mexico.
