If you check their global list of echiums you will see that there is one listed as E.sericeum - yours, possibly? They also say that one of the species they are looking for is E.auberianum! If only my climate here were a lot less damp I'd be growing a lot of them myself. Best of luck, with whatever your plant turns out to be.
