Re: California gardens floaded?

Alessandra,
Hi . Where i am in california we would nerver get a flood as
we are on sand dunes 40 ft above sea level. Anyhow mostly the flooding is in
the wine country ( napa county) and mendocino county. Manteka did get flooded
( theres a great water ride park there) and most places along the rivers.
The american river got flooded, taking out half of the highway. Luckily it
didnt flood in my immediate area. Although the Pajaro river did get VERY
close and theres many farms around that area. South of where i live in the
Big Sur headlands, highway 1 washed into the sea, cutting off south bound
traffic. A Gorda has almost no people there. Its strange, we have two 100
year floods within two years. Last year the par of california im on was
turned into a temporary island due to two rivers and a tributary that flows
between them flooded, washing out all the bridges and isolating us from the
rest of the central coast. The salinas valley last year turned into what it
used to look like before settlers, a flat, marshy area, sort of like the
everglades.

Anyhow thats mostly general flood news. Those more north of me can tell you
more.

BJ
