Hugo raises a good point. I, for one, have never been too clear about
exactly what we should and should not discuss in this group:
-Plants that are native to the Mediterranean basin?
-Plants from all places that are considered to have a Mediterranean-type
climate (including California, Chile, South Africa, etc.)?
-How to grow various plants (including temperate and tropical plants)
under Mediterranean climate conditions?
 -All of the above?

It seems to me that it has been all of the above. If Sean wants to sets up
a more limited defintion, I will be happy to go along with it. Maybe a
defining phrase could be included in an automatic footer added to all
messages passing through our server; I have seen that in other mailing
lists. Something like "For the discussion of plants native to the
Mediterranean basin." or whatever is appropriate.
