Lavendula viridis... maybe?

 I grow a wonderful lavender that I haven't yet identified. It's from
seed sold by Chiltern's a few years back as L. stoechas, but it's not that.
Even the nice people at Chiltern's couldn't identify it, although they did
send me a free packet of L. stoechas to remedy the mistake :-).

So, I'm wondering if any of you can help me identify this plant. Also, if
anyone's growing the same thing, we could compare cultural notes, as it
seems more picky than other lavenders.

Description:
Green (as opposed to gray) leaves, un-toothed, flat, about 1/2 cm wide.
Greenish-white flowers, with a tuft of brachts at the top like L. stoechas
(but also greenish-white). Noticeably square-sided flower heads, and a
wonderful, though un-lavender-like, fragrance (but some of my friends hate
it!) Sort of a combination of pine, rosemary, and turpentine, I suppose.

One of the reasons I'm particular eager identify this beauty is that, of
four or five plants, only one survived past its first flowering year. The
one that made it is huge and happy, though. It MAY have received a little
more water or protection from cold than the others, but that seems
unlikely... I'm wondering if the species (whatever it is!) just tends to be
monocarpic. So, of course I want to propagate this one tough customer, but
I haven't had any success with cuttings so far. I never have trouble
growing OTHER lavenders from cuttings, why this one?! Any tips would be
very welcome...

Thanks in advance,
