Another fantastic color combination (though I don't know how likely it would
occur in nature) is Ray Hartman ceanothus (medium blue, large shrub/tree)
behind a blooming redbud (Cercis occidentalis). The two are planted together
along Interstate 280 as it goes through Cupertino and Los Altos Hills near
me (lower part of the San Francisco peninsula), and the colors positively
shimmer!
